FAQ
What's a hydrostatic test? +
Pressurize the empty cylinder with water to 5/3 of its working pressure. Hold, measure expansion. Cylinders that exceed acceptable expansion or show leaks fail and must be condemned.
Who can do it? +
Only DOT-licensed test stations with proper equipment. Not field-service.
What if the date stamp is missing or illegible? +
Cylinder must be condemned and replaced. No way to prove compliance.
