Who can perform NFPA 25 inspections? +
Visual / weekly / monthly: trained owner staff. Quarterly and above: licensed sprinkler contractor familiar with NFPA 25.
What about the 5-year internal inspection? +
Often called the "internal obstruction examination." Requires opening pipe and visually inspecting interior. Most common reason systems fail — sediment buildup blocks flow.
Documentation required? +
Every inspection requires a written report with date, technician name, deficiencies found, and corrective actions. Keep records 5+ years for AHJ/insurance audit.
