Why does this matter? +
Shipping 1000 1/2 × 4" bolts is ~120 lb. Pricing freight, knowing if your trailer can carry it, or selling by weight all need accurate numbers.
Steel vs stainless weight? +
Stainless is ~2% heavier than carbon steel. Aluminum is ~36% the weight. Titanium ~58%. For most jobs, steel approximation is close enough.
