Why 10% waste on coping? +
Cuts, mitered corners, broken pieces, and the inevitable "one bad piece per pallet" all add up. 10% is the floor; freeform with lots of curves needs 15%+.
Cantilever, bullnose, or rough-cut? +
Bullnose is most common ($20–$40/LF travertine). Cantilever poured-in-place coping is cheaper but doesn't read as upscale. Rough-cut stone is highest-end ($60+/LF).
Auto-cover track? +
Same perimeter math, but only the long sides plus a small return. Use rectangle long-side ×2 for cover track LF.
