FAQ

Which way to read? +
The tolerance band (gold/silver) is on the right side and slightly separated. Read from left to right. If no gold/silver, the wider gap separates last band from the rest.
4-band vs 5-band? +
4-band: 2 digits + multiplier + tolerance. 5-band: 3 digits + multiplier + tolerance — used on precision resistors (1% or tighter).
What is tempco (band 6)? +
Temperature coefficient — how much resistance changes per degree Celsius. Important for precision circuits. Brown=100 ppm/°C is standard.
