Why weighted GPA? +
Honors and AP courses are harder, so they get a bump. Colleges typically recalc using their own formula — they want to see rigor and unweighted GPA both.
Max weighted GPA? +
On a 5.0 scale with all AP As: 5.0. On a 4.0 scale with weighting: typically capped at 4.5-5.0 depending on school policy.
