Why three temp ratings? +
Higher temp insulation runs hotter without failing. THHN (90°C) carries more current than TW (60°C) in same gauge.
Automotive different? +
Yes — automotive wire derates because bundled in looms with heat. Use 60% of NEC values as a safe rule of thumb.
